You're all wrong!

Its Brian Hooper the pole vaulter, as proved by his many Superstars victories  ;)

I'd never heard of him until now (or had forgotten his name), when I think of Superstars I always think Brian Jacks

Yes I remember Brian Jack's and Kevin Keegan falling off his bike. Modern day sportsmen would not be allowed to take part in something like that  today. Too high a risk of injury.  :unknown:

We are blessed as a nation to have had so many amazing sportsmen over the years.

Steve Redgrave
Chris Hoy
Andy Murray
Joe Calzaghe
AP Mc Coy
Bobby Moore
Lewis Hamilton
Ian Botham
Mo Farah
Jonny Wilkinson
George Best
Phil Taylor
Ronnie O'Sullivan
Lester Piggott

All amazing, all successful, all British (yes, even Mo Farah and the Northern Irish chaps  :hi:) , and that's just a quick selection off the top of my head.

For me, I think Murray could have been the greatest if it weren't for injury and playing in the same era as the three undoubtedly greatest players of all time.

As a result, I think Steve Redgrave is the one.

I'm sure I saw an interview with Keegan where he said Liverpool didn't know he was doing it and he then had to go back and explain how he'd fucked his arm up.
As I recall it was also a "Cinder" track surface  :scare:

It's 'The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland' if you really want to be pedantic.  British includes Northern Irish.  Although rather pointless debating it on a thread like this

Longest country name in the world BTW,
