Has anyone been able to use day rooms recently?

Offline PaulRuff

For the whole time hotels have been open.

Offline Seamenstaines

No questioning re business use?

Offline PaulRuff

No, nothing at all...think they were most definitely glad for the business.

I enquired about booking a room with village near Christmas and the guy on the phone made it sound like they were going to be an arse on arrival.

Able to give any hints at chains that were 'happy for business' type of attitude?

Offline PaulRuff

Best Western, Premier Inn, Britannia to name a few.

Offline northern_lust

Nice one! Cheers for the info. Don't suppose you've chanced a Village? Seemed dicey when enquiring but great option (when available).

Tried a well known hotel chain in Warrington about a month ago, never got passed reception!
Only a few weeks until they all open 17th May.

Offline cideruk

Are they cheaper than for a night then?

Presume you get full bedding etc?

Offline Seamenstaines

Just like booking for overnight, but from 9am-5pm instead

Offline Smoothballs

Rooms are fully bedded, cleaned, exactly as a normal booking into hotel after 14.00 booking

Used the Hilton at Manchester airport twice very easy and no hassle.
Banned reason: No contribution to site even though actively punting, ignoring a mod, exit stage left

Who did you see?

I have used them twice recently, I prepared a letter on A4 paper saying we needed a base to view properties in the area. Reception asked for letter but never looked at it. This was a Hilton

I've successfully used both 'dayrooms'and 'dayuse'. Never any questions asked; low rates; pay in cash on arrival; book online; cancel online up to the last minute.

In the first lockdown it was difficult to get a room without a interrogation.

This lockdown has been much easier IMO. Village in bury is where I use as on doorstep and never had a problem. I’ve been asked twice about what work it is... I just say I’m a contractor who works nights so need to place to kip in day.

I don’t visit with a WG... it’s a civvy and we say we are together and work together.

As said I think they are just happy for the business.
