My choice of contact magazines throughout the 80s/90s/00s was Northern Link Up, printed and distributed by Brian and Norma (both swingers) from a little shop originally on Cross Lane Gorton, and after the mid 80s a shop near to Crompton Way Bolton. I must have spent a small fortune with them over the years.
Northern Link Up was a box number magazine and was mainly used by swingers, although there were single women adverts on there who were always looking for "generous gents".
In 1986 me and the wife became swingers and met a couple of dozen couples of all ages and sizes over the course of 15/16 years.
We originally used to answer adverts from other couples and then eventually decided to place our own advert in 1995.
If you paid for an advert, you got a complimentary copy of the magazine. So eventually our free copy turned up at our house(in a plain brown envelope) and lo and behold the wife was on the front cover,in her basque and stockings, legs open with a big black dot covering her shaven fanny.
She was mortified but soon saw the funny side of it.
We eventually started meeting single guys (via Fabswingers) and I always told the guys we met that they had just fucked a "Cover Girl".
The other contact magazine published by Norma and Brian was called Manchester Scene and that had ads that all had phone number. Nearly all ads were single women . This was the means by which I punted for about 30 years from 1980 - 2010ish.
