Can’t find a recent thread on this so starting a new one. Looking for decent day use hotels in the City of London/Tower area to Farringdon/King’s Cross. They all need key cards nowadays so a bar area to meet would also help. Welcome any suggestions. Thank you.

I know the thread you mean. I was looking for it recently. But can't find it.  :unknown:

Head 1 posted something useful about an alternative entrance to a hotel in the City. But I forgot to note it down.

Don't know about Central London. But the Ibis near West Brompton/Earls Court station is good, no lift keycard and the girl can just come up to the room. Used it a few times in the past.

St Leonardos at St Paul’s. Decent day rate, key cards not required for the majority of the rooms. Very discrete open plan bar area too if needed.

Would second this, I've used it a couple of times this year when meeting SB's in London.

If you can stretch to Holborn, I've used NYX before and it was great, no key cards. SB came straight to the door  :yahoo:

Ah, thanks, I think that's the hotel  that Head 1 mentioned in the other thread.

I always feel so embarrassed booking a day use room as though they know for sure I’m booking it to see a hooker.

There’s plenty reasons to book a day use.

And the staff don’t really give a shit

But in reality it’s all in your head!!

Yeah they don't care at all. As long as you aren't a nuisance or disruptive in some way to other guests, they don't give a crap. Just doing their jobs

I've used Aloft, Excel a few times.  Lift card operated, but the lifts are around the side away from reception so easy for girls to come through and meet at the lifts.

Also in that location, holiday in express, and unborn yacht hotel.  Both need lift keys but easy to avoid reception.

The Doubletree Hilton the girls can come straight up to the room

Couple in Canary wharf.  The novotel needs lift access.  Canary riverside plaza is a lovely venue, nice big windows in the room to put on a show for the office workers opposite and no problems with lift access. Mattress however was really worn.

Threadneedles autograph collection, near Bank of England.  Very nice, easy to book.  Easy to avoid reception but again lift key operated.

More likely they’d assume you are having an affair. That’s where I’d jump to. It’s even one of the options on the dayuse website for feedback on why you are booking.

you did not try dayuse website? I have been using it for over 10 years now. Most of reputed hotel in London accept booking through that. You can filter hotels based on your criteria, time of arrival. number of hours needed etc. I never faced any issue. I only boon 4 or 5 star hotels. In good hotels, staff is more professional and such places are safer and discreet. Also, a good ambience adds value to overall experience.

You can go to Hilton website and for checkin and checkout select same dates and it will let you book for day use. Usually 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm (varies on hotel...you can check while booking).

There are also two Leonardo Hotels on the Dayuse Website close to Tower Hill / Aldgate tube stations. The lifts do not require key card access.

There's the Crowne Plaza hotel between Kings Cross and Farringdon whch is available for day use and when I went last year it wasn't key carded.

Also The Pullman near Kings Cross.

Can the mod lock this thread to only registered customers

As this thread will compromise the hotel chains allowing us to use them without key card

If it's advertised blatantly they can implement full crack down on keycards and us working from them
