I'd not say this was your fault. But there's one thing you could have done better.
When you dial a number & it stops ringing, the polite thing to do is to assume it's been answered, even if you don't hear a hello (maybe there was a brief signal dip or whatever.) So before hanging up, one say's 'hello? .... hello?...'.
As it sounds like you didn't do this, it's understandable that the WG flew of the handle a bit - some of them are the type that gets easily stressed even before they go into sex work. And according to some reports, more than half the men who make contact turn out to be timewasters at best, or genuine creeps at worst.
Personally I'd think a -ve would be harsh, maybe a neutral to warn other punters that she has the potential to be difficult.
