Or was SS hit simply for tax evasion, money laundering, drugs etc

It could do with a lick of paint 

GMP have been turning a blind eye to dozens of parlours for years as it basically keeps it off the streets, the lesser of two evils so to speak
No doubt Sandy's will all become clear in time and there must have been a good reason to bust them while leaving other places open.
I think if the others were at risk then they would have been raided too in the last 15/16 months, just wonder what their latest tax returns were compared to the previous year

Every parlour is an illegal entity, and the possibility of police action hangs over every single one. I don't see how it's really possible to speculate on the possibility of raids, every one seems to come out of the blue and never be the ones you expect. Take Arabesque for example, a lot expected them to be raided eventually, but they were left alone for years and shut only through the owner's volition.

I was there late Jan and mid Feb but didn't notice any work so presumably it's fairly recent, good to know they are fixing the showers as that was my main gripe with the place

I was there seeing Maria a few weeks ago. There was a lot of banging and screwing going on, and not just in the rooms either. It seems the place was getting a refurb. Not before time.

GMP always turn a blind eye to brothels whether they are well run classy establishment like Sandys or shitholes like Arabs. As said previously if, for the most part, keeps the issue off the streets.

They only ever act where there is other criminal activity, such as drugs but most notably tax evasion, occurring on the premises. As long as HMRC are getting there cut then everyone is happy.

This argument I get for places like Arabs, but I'm sure GMP know that Sandy's never employed the kind of girls who would end up street walking outside Piccadilly train station. I think it's more to do with money, personally.
