I'm going to make a final comment here. Based on what I read I am quite sure the challenges derive from a passionate commitment to make this site more robust based on having seen bad stuff happen.

But, what I will do more of as a result of this is to comment more on dodgy stuff and actually use the report button.

VW, is there a way to move the language to less blunt in a summary recommendation you have on positive things that can be done in the contexts of reviews and posts? You'll have some personal guidelines you use, for example. This would allow members to perhaps more calmly reflect on actions they may take rather than annoyance based on perceived personal attack.
