Experience
I wanted to try out the infamous hotel in Euston, especially as I've heard it may soon be disappearing. I picked three WGs I knew were working at that hotel (sweetTeen_julia20, _sensual_kasia_ and _Miranda_) to see if I could get a booking. I texted all three of them two days before, and only _sensual_kasia_ responded by the following day. I made an initial booking request for 2pm and she said she would text me on the day to confirm. I texted her in the morning to ask if she had a time yet. She texted me back asking if 1pm was good for me - I said that it was and presumed it was going ahead (in retrospect, I probably should have made sure I had a firm confirmation). A while later STJ messaged me asking if I was still interested - she would have been my first choice, however as far as I was concerned I had already made arrangements. Again, in retrospect, I probably should have considered her a viable Plan B.

I texted Kasia about 30 minutes before to tell her I was on the way. No response. As I come out of Euston I've received a text from Miranda asking me if I'm still looking to make a booking. Again, as far as I was concerned I had already made arrangements, so declined. 12.50pm and I'm standing outside the hotel texting and calling Kasia. No response. 1pm comes and goes. No response to calls or texts. I consider going with a Plan B but I'm a bit annoyed by this point and at 1.30pm I head off. :(

So, I guess the moral of the story is, always have a Plan B, and be prepared to use it. I'm going to (hopefully) try out one of the other WGs next week and we will see how that goes.

The hotel is disappearing?

Apparently it will be going in October when Euston is expanded to accommodate HS2. There's a thread on UKE about it.
