Does anyone know how likely punting phones are to work in Europe? I picked up some cheap as shit brick a year or so back. It's fine in the UK (on the EE network) but I'm off to Europe in a few weeks and wonder if it will work there as well.

My O2 punting SIM worked witohut any problems in quite a few EC Countries.

If you regularly dispose of your punting SIMS, then consider Lyca SIM. Can be bought discreetly from most independent mobile phone shops.

AFAIR, you get free roaming in most popular EC countries.

Not only should the SIM work, but your call charges should be low as well.

Check out their website.

All the info provided by Cool Tiger is I believe accurate. The defining factor allowing unhindered EU roaming will be your phone and how basic/advanced it is. If my memory serves, provided you have at least a dual band 2G phone, covering 900 and 1800 MHz frequencies, you should have no problem.
