Hi mate, I went as an Asian and its absolutely fine as long as you mind your manners and don't get confused with the lechy Indians who seem to be visiting there more and more.

Not sure if I'm allowed to mention other forums but I found guys to hang with on Pattaya addicts.

Pattaya has, over recent years, become very popular among male tourists from the sub-continent. You don't as yet see many in the GG Bars, but you will see many roving in groups up and down Beach Road.

Last thing you'll want is to be mistaken for one of these. They generally have a poor rep among the girls as being boorish and very cheap.

Is this your first trip there? As the other guys said there is a bad rep for Indian men there, but if you show that you can afford a few beers in a bar, and maybe buy a girl a ladydrink then they will soon respect you as a good paying customer, if you look Indian you might be refused entry to some gogo's, either walk away, or you could try to friendly talk your way in, saying you're British not Indian and wiling to buy drinks will get you in. As Britpack said you can meet guys on Pat Addicts who will go for a beer, and would help you to get into bars.

PS just to be clear we're all referring to Indian men who live in India, not Westernised Indians. They also seen to be mainly from the South (dark skinned).

I could and do pass for a mixed race/black guy so the skin colour could be in your favour.

Further, Thai girls are friendly and easygoing. It's just bad experiences with guys from India rather than racism that make them untrusted.

Hi all, I am now planning on booking my trip to Pattaya, now I am a guy who likes a bit of luxury so would like to know which hotels in Pattaya are guest friendly and also of a high standard. I have searched around and it seems there are varying opinions on which hotels are guest friendly. Any help would be greatly appreciated

My personal favourite at the moment is Sandy Spring brilliantly located within spitting distance of Beach Road and smack bang in the middle of the strip on Soi 13.  Very amiable staff and totally joiner  friendly it offers a spot of luxury aat reasonable rates.  I'll  be there next week.
