Why, why, why, do WGs think it acceptable to retain numbers?? Punting phone or not?

Several girls I punt with have saved my number. They do it to know it's a regular or a good punter. I only ever had one text me when I hadn't made a booking. She had stupidly double booked me the day before even though I was a regular and texted the next day to let me know she was free. I ignored her and booked her a week later in what turned out to be my last punt with her.

Over the weekend I was planning to have a punt after visiting a friend in Kent. The battery on my punting phone died. Even if I had decided to use my personal phone, I had no numbers saved on there, but I wouldn't have done so anyway. So moral of the story, keep the battery charged.

Blimey, there's some suspicious OH's out there.
My Mrs was washing my jeans when I was out, came back to find she had emptied the pockets and told me she'd put my phone on the dressing table!
No questions asked. I have in the past mentioned that I keep a spare PAYG phone as back up/emergency phone but she doesn't seem to be remotely concerned.

Do what I done. Get a cheap basic phone in Carfone Warehouse for £10. Usually comes with a sim that you have to put credit on. Keep it turned on, but on silent mode and check regular for missed calls & texts. Then find somewhere to stash it so no-one can find it. Like under a pile of cloths in wardrobe, pocket of a jacket, boot of the car even!! DON'T register the sim. Top up using prepaid vouchers from newsagent or wherever. That way, you can't be traced. I would recommend Lebara. Don't have to register the sim, can be topped up with prepaid vouchers, and call/texts cheaper than the big boys. Good luck!! :D

I realise that we're only hiding it from OH's and not MI5 but it can be traced.
There was a case in the paper recently where a guy who had been arrested had an unregistered phone. The police got the phone company to tell them where and when the top up voucher was bought, then looked at the CCTV in the shop - hey presto he was bang to rights.

My regular girl has my number and my first name. That way, when I send her a text, she knows who I am and that I will turn up. I have her number, but only use it to send texts and call her to tell her when I've got off the bus and started walking to her place. At the beginning she did text me, but she's stopped doing that. She's never called me.

Nobody else I've visited has ever called or texted me.

I always delete my text threads and logs after making a booking.

The benefits of a punting phone (or sim) have just become apparent for me, at least.

Earlier this year, I saw a young lady at short notice, and because I was changing mobile company for my punting phone, the sim had not activated, so I used my work phone. This is the one and only time I have done this.

In the last 30 mins, just had a text from one of a well known group of pretty young ladies that work from hotels, saying she was leaving AW etc. It's not the content of the message but proves beyond doubt that some girls keep guy's numbers in their phonebook, which for me is unacceptable.

Luckily, my phone is always on silent, so no awkward questions, but it could have been a hell of a WTF moment if I'd been in the car, on bluetooth, with others present and she had called or others said, well who's it from?? ....... :scare:

Because it makes perfect business sense. What would you do?

They have a perfect right to retain your number.     :hi: :hi:

They retain numbers as

1.  I suspect many keep lists and notes of the clients they've seen.  Helps with the GFE should you choose to see them again.

2.  That's what mobiles automatically do

Many do. Looking through the SAAFE website will confirm it.

It is their choice if they decide to retain your number, I can't see a problem.    :unknown: :unknown:

They may decide to keep numbers of punters they would be happy to see again ----------- or block numbers of guys they don't want to see again.
