Today 11 Sept 2026 marks the anniversary of 9/11,of the attack on the twin towers

It's hard to believe that 25 years ago, I watched all of this fold out, and normal programs on tv, were interrupted for this

I was watching the news early afternoon, and what ever channel you tunned into, it was the same footage

But the most shocking moment, was watching the second plane fly into the second tower, I swore WTF, and now questioning, did that really happen

Before the towers began to collapse, have you ever had the feeling that someone just walked over your grave, that's what I felt liked, when the first tower collapsed

One of my brothers used to work for Morgan Stanley, who had offices in the twin towers.  My brother was on a flight, and on his way home from New York to London, and on the flight, the news came through about the attack.  More or less everyone was on that flight, and now in tears, as a small majority were in one of the two towers a few hours before, and knew workers in the towers

It seemed on that eventful day, everything came to a halt, like the church service meant to begin at 19:00, and no one turned up for the service

I was working in a radio newsroom that day and the OBIT (Obitury) alarm went of if that sounds its either one of the royal tribe or the prme minister has departed the world.

There was a sense of disbelif of what was happening we had a raw news feed from IRN or Independant Radio News whose output we took for the rest of the day, but even to the hardend news reporters  it was very difficult for anyone there to belive it was true, what was happening!..

And these brave beyond words Firemen who attended clinbing up those stairways with heaey backpacks.

Though i still to this day don't believe the offical story of how the WTC 7 building colapsed quite like it did!..

I remember hearing it on the radio at work, when they announced the second plane hitting, I think I thought it was a radio prank or something. Then the pentagon one hit and I thought it was another country declaring war on them.
Some touching stories today, like about a blind man and his guide dog guiding people down the stairs or a security guard that got 2700 out safely.

Sad day, But the groups that support terrorism still exist and may be a lot stronger.

It was/is and will always be a shocking and tragic day ... but in 25 years not much has changed, US foreign policy hasn't changed ... lessons not learned in my opinion.

Things have changed.
The things that day hastened.
Almost as if by design.
But if I go any further we stray into subjects verboten.
So I'll take the fifth from here on in......

Nothing was wrong with Us policy at this time. Few select individuals who will always carry terror. Done on England 7/7
Same groups attacked India in Mumbai,

I was there on the day.

Scared, upset, bewildered, confused, horrified.

Made it back to my hotel in utter disbelief - No phones, no cell-phones, no Email, flights all grounded - put the TV on in the room & tried hard to comprehend.

In the bar that night, almost silent, nobody knew what to say............
