You can always walk if they don't meet your looks criteria, I always try to have a back up in case my 1st choice falls through. The worst is after you've handed the cash and you get shit service. Plus you can eliminate most of the fake profiles as they are obviously using heavy airbrushing or pics of a model.

I think it’s helpful when they post a picture with the date and city to confirm it’s them. If not another good one is pictures of them outside somewhere that you can see the background of the city in (Bham in my case and you recognise it) gives you more reassurance
