The Gumtree ad promises relaxing music, candles, professional massage, and hot oil. The reality with Amy could not have been further from that. I booked an hour for £50 and it was the worst massage I have ever had.

At the start I was left lying on the table for about five minutes while she walked out of the room. When she began, the massage was robotic, the same sweeping strokes again and again with no pressure, no variety, and no sign of training. I asked for deep tissue and work on butt knots. She half-heartedly did one buttock, then abandoned the other. Neck, shoulders, and the whole front of the body were ignored. A token rub of the feet, hands, and arms was all the “variety” I got. Even the oil was cold, which made it feel careless and unpleasant.

She repeatedly stopped to play with her phone. At least seven voice notes sent, seven received, all of them played out loud. Sometimes she simply left me lying on the table while she typed away. Other times she made a pretence of carrying on, half-heartedly sliding her hand up and down my leg while her attention was on the screen. Each time she recorded a reply the massage stopped, and every incoming message caused the music to cut out since it was on the same device. Any chance of relaxation was completely destroyed.

She pushed for £20 HE, which was declined. Given the lack of effort and atmosphere, it was laughable. Nothing had been done to even try to set the mood.

I later read another review that matches almost exactly: left waiting at the start, massage cut short, and the therapist on her phone instead of working. This is clearly not a one off.

For balance, I have seen Annie here before and she was excellent, with real skill and personality. Amy is the complete opposite. Robotic, distracted, unprofessional, and even using cold oil when the ad promises hot.

Overall: A total waste of £50. Worst massage I have ever had.
