Sentencing in this country baffles me.
That is because it can be extremely complex and this is one such case.
As I have posted many times before it is always better to read the Judge's sentencing remarks than rely on MSM headlines.
External Link/Members OnlyThis one is especially complicated. IMO the real issue here once again relates to mental health services. It is service which is both failing those who are ill and as a result failing those others who are impacted.
It is also a system which over relies on compliance by the patient. In many instances (as is now the case with this individual) patients are not hospitalised when they should be. One of the reasons for this is the lack of such availability.
