man and a woman have been arrested after we raided three suspected brothels in Nottingham.
We executed warrants in connection with the suspected exploitation of women who may have been forced to operate as sex workers.
Warrants were executed at addresses in Derby Road and Mansfield Road, Sherwood, on Monday (7 April) around 6am.
A further property was searched in Plantin Road, Carrington, where two people were detained.
Inquiries then led to a raid on a third suspected brothel in Queen's Road, Beeston.
We seized cash, documents and high-value items. An extendable baton was also recovered from the Derby Road address.
A 58-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of managing or assisting to manage a brothel and possession of criminal property.
A 59-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of criminal property and causing or inciting prostitution for gain.
Sergeant Karl Browne, of our City Central neighbourhood policing team, said: "Coordinated warrants were executed at these addresses and inquiries are ongoing.
"We are committed to tackling the harm and exploitation associated with sex work and are always prepared to take positive action as we have here.
"As a force we take a victim-first approach with this issue, which is why we also work closely with charities and support groups to ensure women identified as being involved in prostitution can access the network of support available to them."
