When I first heard that Warne died in Thailand, my initial thoughts were "He was probably banging prossies in his hotel room, high on drugs." I was actually disappointed when the reports mentioned death from natural causes. Wtf! We're talking about Shane Warne here......the rock star of cricket.

It's no surprise now that he died the way he would have wanted to.

What a legend. He was riveting viewing.

Possibly - he was certainly known to drink and smoke heavily and he had been banned for drug use  in his career - in this case a diuretic which could mask other drugs although he claimed it was to reduce weight - which he had a problem with throughout his career
Like many leg spin bowlers he stressed his body to get a bit extra (try twisting a door knob anticlockwise as hard and fast as you can - I guarantee a twinge and he did it much harder all day )  He suffered painful shoulder injuries requiring legal drugs and it is so easy to cross the line

Would he be stupid enough to take ED drugs with a heart condition ?  he certainly had a history of abusing his body
Would the authorities cover it up ?

Sounds more like what a fool. Very sad.

Top guy, hats off to him  :hi:
What a way to go out banging Thai chicas,  not forgetting the number of years he was banging Liz Hurley.  If you're going to depart this world depart it with a stiffie and a smile. ;)

52 is too young to die whatever the situation. Life is what you make it and is too precious to throw away

Reading about Shane Warne and his demise reminded me of this story about John Entwistle of the Who from a few years back..

While I do agree with you there is also a counter argument that it's better to live fast and die young but having fully enjoyed yourself than to die age 90 having not enjoyed yourself

I'm sure that George Best is a hero of yours and let's face it he certainly enjoyed himself, remember the anecdote about him being in a hotel with miss world and a shit load of cash strewn over the bed when the waiter delivers yet another bottle of Champagne and shakes his head saying "where did it all go wrong"  :D
Yeah poor Georgie, must have been a real bummer that night

I agree. Some people are just not meant to live long.
Better just to raise a glass and toast the artistry he displayed in his chosen sport.

Wonder if over time the authorities, have been getting back-handers from Shane.  So if something like this was happening, then one thing would be apparent, would the authorities, do what ever needed to hide this

Surely that depends on how many times Warnie had visited Thailand?

It’s an article in the Daily Mail so credibility and truth are questioned.

Warne was a cricketer that transcended rivalry, I’ve watched England play cricket all over the world and if there was a player that I wished was English then it was him. Even when he destroyed our batting line up you knew that you were witnessing a genius even if he was an Aussie.

So what if he took super strength ED meds, I imagine many on this site use a blue pill. The Daily Mail can fuck right off.

He had been on a real diet before he died and had shed quite some weight, could have had a part to play in his death.
