Booked a meet with a lady off of Friday-Ads and she asked to pay with a pay safe card? Was I right for what I did or could it of been genuine?

I made excuses and she still wouldn’t budge. Hopefully the screen shots upload

Thank you southcoastpunter.

You did the right thing IMO. Being asked to bring any form of prepaid card/voucher is a red flag. It's got scam written all over it.

"I'm just going to the next room to check the balance on it"
2 minutes later...
"Sorry hun, there's no money on this"

Of course there isn't, her pimp has drained the funds. Doesn't take cash from first time customers. What a load of bollocks.

If I understand it correctly, the Paysafe voucher she asked for a picture of was all she needed to get the money.  No need to actually visit the flat, she can add the top-up voucher to the card once she has the pin number.

This would be better as a review to alert others of the scammer than a discussion about Paysafe.

I agree, had I not been a mod I wouldn't have read this, I've never had a Paysafe request and would never use it so it's of no interest to me, whereas a negative review warning of a rip off very much would be if I was in the area.

Good scam warning

At first it was a general question to see if it was a scam as never had a request before. Then I decided to follow it through to see if I was right and I was. Initially it was up for discussion.

Once you had sent the picture of the card they would have taken the funds in a flash and you wouldn't have heard anything more from them.

The best thing to have done would have been to take the funds yourself first, at least you would have had a laugh at their expense when their withdrawl was refused!

They could have been anywhere in the world but probably not anywhere near the flat in question.
