Bearing in mind we're getting one subjective side of the story here, I'd still like to give appreciation to the OP for what is part review, part cautionary tale.
Us blokes are capable of doing silly things in the name of sex and/or love, and that doesn't end when money is changing hands. For what it's worth, the WG in question sounds like a walking advertisement for Borderline Personality Disorder - charming, manic energy, addictive, seemingly open and vulnerable, capable of love-bombing, but also fickle, maddenly difficult to get hold of, mood swings, and one day out of nowhere decides she hates you. I speak from past experience here (these girls are ubiquitous in civvyland too) and all I can say is I hope OP has reflected on what happened and is in a better position to see the warning signs clearer and sooner going forward.
