I agree on all counts. I’ve been to hotels where I can get around the key card problem simply by using stairs but I’m not sure I’d want to ‘piggyback’ in a lift with someone else. Simply hanging around the lifts would feel really dodgy to me.

Agreed. A month or two ago an SP told me I had to tailgate into her block of flats as the buzzer didn't work. That was irritating enough but doing it in a hotel lift lobby feels much dodgier. I wouldn't mnd taking the stairs if that was an option but I'd hesitate to turn up and hope for the best.

Lobby stairs also required a card to enter stairwell and when I did get into it from a elevator you can enter the stairs from elevator landing but not back in again without a card.

Thanks for TOFTT and reporting back. Yes, agreed with other comments. Apart from the fact you could be there a long time, just hanging around a lift waiting for someone else to come looks dodgy and is going to attract attention.

I often take stairs but often a key card is needed to get to these, not sure if that is at that hotel.

My guess is that other guys will think similar and at some point the SP will be forced to rethink that strategy and come and get the guy or, better still, use a different hotel.
