The other thing is to pay with cash, if you offer a card then they often add 10%, they also disappear with your card. Sometime they get you to sign the receipt other times not. One bar tried adding 100% to the bill. Soon learnt that lesson.

Cash in theses places even if you have to get money before you go in.

Card cloning is also rife in Thailand. I’d suggest using cash for everything apart from drawing money from an atm. If you do use your card, never ever let it out of your sight.

The cheapest way is to take £,€ or $  and change it, there are fx shops every 50 metres at least 4 around Nana Plaza, just check their rates and use the best, they seem better than the one at the airport so just change the minimum

Next best is to use a currency card just google it , use the rate from the card, however the machines charge yo 200 baht per transaction minimum

Then there is your own bank or credits cards, usually commission or fx transaction fee and rates very variable and again 200 baht per transaction minimum also some credit cards charge interest immediately on a cash withdrawal

I take some cash and exchange at the airport when I land, think you get a slightly better rate if exchanging £50 notes or 20+, can't remember exactly.
Then use revolut for withdrawal at ATMs

There is a minim of £300 order but the rates plus fees are the best by far compared to any one else.
