I know this might come over negative, but tbh other than the odd seeking contact, 1 or 2 locals and tourers if you have the time, like a half day spare which I know is unlikely for many, book a train and get to London- especially if you like very fit and younger types. I'm increasingly really bored with the lack of brum talent and would rather pay a little bit more for a young ukrainian spinner for example. As ever, YMMV, just sharing my perspective on the local scene.
