My understanding is that the deposit is because a lot of guys who book for gangbangs flake out at the last minute.
I've also heard similar from another SP who tried several times to organise a gangbang through AW - all the guys flaked out and ended up seeing the girl 1:1 or not at all. She eventually organised one through fetlife/fab and some lucky bastards got to fuck her senseless all night for free!
