How many countries have you travelled to where e-scooters are used? I've been to several and also ridden them. People were polite and considerate, on or off the pavement or road. There is an expectation to use the road but ride on the pavement occasionally if it is safer to do so.

Faults with the system here: users not sufficiently traceable or monitored. Not one of the best companies. Culture of hooliganism and selfishness (which also extends to bicycles).
Plenty
If a bicycle or scooter comes towards me on a pavement in the UK then I expect them to stop.
If I get hit by a scooter in Germany or anywhere else then I am probably standing on a designated “cycle track”, always looking over my shoulder fearing the worst.

I haven't seen a problem in the area where I live. I even said to one guy as he was passing me (there was room to pass and he had slowed down to a crawl), 'nice scooter' and he got off and offered me a shot. But such civility might change.

Of course if the fucker's wearing a hoodie and screaming shite to his mates across the road I'd get out the way. ~Not that I'm prejudiced: someone acting like a fucking hooligan is statistically more likely to be one.  :dash:
