I doubt that article would trouble their minds as they don't have any.

The Nick Ferrari interview with one of the climate protesters was instructive.

Basically he asked how she’d feel if a delayed ambulance had her own mum or kid in it.

“They’d be glad to die for the cause”. (Not an exact quote, but near enough.)

I bet they wouldn’t!

It's a shame Nick didn't ask "how would she feel if her mother cut you out of her will and she had to pay your own way?"

Nick should have asked, how would you and your family feel, if public services withdrew there protection towards you, like.   Your son needs an operation, but hospital staff refuse to admit your son into the hospital, including private hospitals

But then, Nick should ask, but how would your son feel about this, is he willing to die, or would he want treatment

Not sure if anyone has already seen this, but it is at least very interesting, setting the eco warriors' antics into context:

Just more bollocks trying to defend the indefensible. They want to stop pollution so they stop traffic and create more pollution.

Or if one of the idiots fell off the bridge and ambulances couldn’t reach him cos his mates were protesting another stretch of the motorway. WhataCunt!

Rather interesting, especially the bit about rising sea levels (or implied rising sea levels).

His data needs a wider audience with full references. I chased one of them (non-disappearing atolls) which seems quite respectable. Maybe Panorama? Though the Beeb are apparently ‘fighting left wing bias with their corporation’.

There are these are also these odd bits where indeed ‘Trump was right’. Such a shame he’s such a cunt.

I must admit that was the one out of the five that I was a bit surprised at, I thought it was accepted among both climate activists and sceptics that sealevel was rising, but the question was whether mankind was responsible or it was just part of the natural cycle that has repeated for millennia.

I also thought he'd include reference to the well proven fact that wind and solar are unreliable, ie, that in winter there's less wind and sun, particularly in the colder northern parts.  That's a killer as well as the excessive costs.

It is cleverly implying  that because the area of the atolls such as the Maldives is increasing, sea levels cannot therefore be rising. In fact the main reason areas are increasing is due to huge land reclamation projects. If you listen carefully he actually says this himself at around 6.18 into the video.

This is confirmed by the article you linked to which the video has taken the data from regarding land areas. The article does not dispute that sea levels are rising.

Most of the land reclamation has taken place in the Maldives. Second in line is the South China sea where China seems to be building a whole new continent  :D

Thanks for that. I skimmed it rather quickly but it did feel a bit proselytising.

My own thoughts on the issiue are that the main focus should be on adaptation to climate change.

Do water levels not rise if they have less space ?  :unknown:

Is the land reclamation not dredging stuff from the sea bed to build up land levels elsewhere  :unknown:
If this is the case then the water level should remain the same or actually drop slightly if some of the material is now above sea level to form "land".

They kept saying sea levels would rise due to the North polar ice cap melting but someone pointed out when water freezes it expands and then when it melts back to water the level will remain the same.
Different story for the ice that melts in the South pole and Greenland etc but it was another example of sensational reporting of bad science

In some cases, not all, landfill is often used, we have been shipping muck out for years, usually so called clean treated muck that was shifted as contaminated.

Some of the digs in London are so deep they go on for months and lots of it has been used to drain marsh land in Essex, pile it high, forcing out water back into the river, few years later, fresh building land. It all will raise water levels.

The amount of land reclaimed this way is minuscule in comparison to the volume of the Earth's water. Any theoretical rise in sea level would be undetectable .. a 'drop in the ocean' (sorry)

Reshaping coastlines and estuaries may have an effect on local tidal levels and erosion etc. but will not affect overall global sea levels.

That’s not counting all the litres of water from crocodile tears shed by Meghan Markle in her videos this morning. Inch by inch, people could add to that in floods of remorse for the unconscious crimes against her mammy.

FFS KT perhaps one day you will post something that's actually factual  :unknown:
And it isn't hard to check facts with a simple Google either  :dash:

Anyway you're wrong again it's 71% (assuming we are talking about surface area)

Irrespective of whether it is 75% or 71% that is surface area, but sea level is about volume. Archimedes simpletto .. but it is about scale.

If I fill a bath and then get in it will show a measurable rise in the water level due to the relative volume of my body. If I get into a large swimming pool, then I will also displace some water theoretically raising the level, but it will not be measurable. If 100 people got into the same pool at once it may be measurable.

However if I rounded up the entire human population and dropped them all into the sea, the increase in sea level would not be measurable.

The volume of the Oceans is estimated at 320 million cubic miles.

Never see much on the news, maybe it does not cause the chaos it does with the M25. All that traffic goes somewhere, it blocks South Essex all over.

Then again much of the news is London centric, a bit like a 3 minute weather forecast where 2 minutes is spent telling us what the weather will be like in London and how a snowflake may cause disruption, just saying

e.g.
“in Scotland, ScotRail [yes we actually have rail-way] said a high wind had blown the wrong kind of lleaves on the track. For more Scottish news and weather viewers up there can switch over to STV, meanwhile, for anyone thinking of travelling outside of London, here’s the latest weather for Lanzarote, Madeira and Fuerteventura.”

The massive BBC app only has an external link to Scottish news. Things like, “Last week, somebody stole a bike.” Obviously nothing much happens outside of London. ‘Scotland’, for instance, is mostly an overgrown field. I’ve heard the ‘north of England’ is just full of striking good-for-nothing shipworkers that ought to be ‘levelled’.

The South-West is where poor people go on holiday, blocking roads with their caravans, and it’s best not speak about what happens in Wales [nudge wink].

I mean why can’t these backward regions just catch up? We fill their hotels, and plenty more where those came from!

True, all kinds of snowflakes  :D.

The news seems quiet on this new coalmine even though the green lobby must be up in arms, and that we are now going to be reliant on American Shale gas.

You would think steeping up North Sea production would break reliance on imported energy and go some way towards levelling up with a boost to the Scottish economy. Or is there none left there  :unknown:

There's around 30+years of gas &oil left beneath the North sea.
As an aside there's a couple of hundred year's worth of coal beneath our feet.
Shale gas, I think we should be into that as well :hi:

The biggest energy disgrace in the country right now is Drax power station which was built right on top of the coalfields, which supposedly became depleted or "not economic" by the prices at the time, but now...? So now they chop down trees in Canada, shred them into chips and sail them across the Atlantic to Drax to burn in a "green" compliant way!  Really?  Utter bollocks.

More people / denser population so it follows that the most contribution to GDP comes from London especially as that's where banking is centred and we are now classed as a service economy rather than making stuff

It wasn't always like that though, not so long ago when cotton was still an important export for the UK the saying was "The countries bread hangs on Lancashire's thread" and Manchester was known as "Cottonopolis"

And don't think that London will always be No.1 either if the banking sector starts to further drift away to Paris; Frankfurt and Amsterdam

These things are always complicated but any wood chips will come from managed forests which are replanted and growing trees take more CO2 out of the atmosphere than fully grown ones
Depends how much if any of the CO2 from wood chips they capture when burning them but AFAIK coal is the dirtiest of the fossil fuels so surely has to be an improvement  :unknown:

I think modern coal plants with scrubbing technology can remove 90% of CO2 and 95% of SO2 from their emissions.  Although the scrubbers are expensive and have hazards of their own.

A lot of wood pellets come from recycled wood, though that has led to scams too, people renting yards, setting up with green finance incentives,  filling up the yard and off they go.

Some of them using fire to cover their tracks.

The pollution from burning anything can be captured if they want to spend the money doing it, they even incinerate human shit in some places and tip the ash on landfill sites, not much like ash though
