Author Topic: Off Market / Grey Property  (Read 1210 times)

Offline LOMAX

Perhaps those in the know with experience in buying off market properties or general property knowledge could help me out on this please :

I’m trying to find out if a particular property is on sale or has been sold :

I’ve checked local estate agents via Rightmove etc but no joy

Checked Land Registry - nothing recent (perhaps in the process)

From the little bit of knowledge that I have - the property has apparently been sold via an auction but there’s so many auction sites it’s difficult to know where to start and I can’t trawl through every auction site on a whim.

The chap who’s apparently bought it sold a number of his assets in order to fund this particular purchase, but presumably as an auction property the buyer would need cash ready to go?

I regularly drive past the property and have not seen any For Sale or Auction boards hence presumably the Off Market Sale..

Any guidance/advice would be lovely  :)

Zoopla updates my local area very regularly,  working from both Land Registry   (which I see you've tried) and local estate agents.

Might just be my suspicious nature but I'm always wary of posts like this when asked on a punting forum, makes me think there's some sexwork related ulterior motive.   :unknown:

What makes it worse is when it's a member who has been leeching off the site for 6+ years who's asking.

Edit

It's the easiest thing in the world to find out if a property has been sold, when it was last sold and how much it was sold for.

"Lovely" is not the word in this sentence a man would use.

I guess this tops the list of the most random post ever on this forum!!

Perhaps LOMAX you could explain in further details, what is your interest in this property.  Are you in any way interested in purchasing this property, or you have no interest in this, but curious on how the sale might be done

I won't comment on your other points but it's not that easy to find a sales price on a sold property.

If you're referring to Land Registry data fed through the popular property sites like Rightmove, Zoopla etc then there are times the data isn't updated for months, sometimes not at all for whatever reason.

I've just done it on a house a mate of my son bought recently.   :unknown:

Doesn't alter the fact a punting forum isn't the best place to ask.

The likes of Rightmove, Zoopla etc don't seem to list recent sales of my property.  I think this is because it consists of more than one registered lot.  Presumably they can't divi the one sale price between several lots.  The last sales they find are when they were sold separately.

The land registry register can be searched.

The exceptions are listed here, you’re right about the several lots.

I don't know why people are helping this leech when his motives are unknown.   :dash:

It wasn’t my intention to help the leach, just commenting on petermisc’s thought about multiple lots.

I’m no fan of leaches, 1 review, 6 years benefit from being here.  I can’t tell if he’s been active but the SP he reviewed no longer has a profile in AW.

What’s the point of the OP?

I don't analyse a member's contributions unless they piss me off  :D

I do, that's why I posted reply #2.

The more people help the leeches the more they leech.

I'm surprised that a member with 20 posts and 1 review in 6 years is allowed to post in "off topic" IMHO that should be earned

i never understand leeches like the OP who post an obscure comment and then disappear back into their cave - he hasn't been back for 2 days to see what replies there have been

Hang him

It's because people can't help but post on the thread, mainly posting about how pointless it is. With 15 replies he's probably achieved his aim.

Feed trolls and they continue to troll, if their posts get no replies then it renders them pointless.
