Now Thailand has lifted its restrictions I'll be punting a bit less now though. Well..... in this country anyway!

Enjoy it mate, I remember my trip to Pattaya back in 2009. Good times, FAF girls for fuck all money, Walking Street, Soi 6, Soi 7 etc.

I went there when Songkran was on as well, drinking all day long pretty much. Good memories. Amazing country and amazing people

Dying to get back!
I was actually there in March 2020 when everywhere went into lockdown. Emirates cancelled my return flight and ended up getting stuck there for an extra week.
Not the worst thing that's ever happened to me!!

Having just returned and posted about my trip, I would agree that Pattaya is better than BKK. Next time, I'll probably only do a day in BKK. More fun and places to visit in Pat than BKK. I've done all the touristy and cultural things in BKK.

I'm planning to go to Thailand later this year. Bangkok and Pattaya are top of the list. I don't drink and hence don't go to bars. Do the girls in massage Parlours do long time in your hotel? Or can you only do p&d in the parlour?

When I was in Thailand in 2019/early 2020 I was only getting about 37THB for £1 but in 2021/early 2022 I was getting 44-46. Now it's 44 and has been rising for a few weeks. This made me look back at historical exchange rates and the £/THB exchange rate varies wildly. For example in 2013 the rate varied between 43 THB to £1 in April 2013 and 54THB to £1 in December 2013. Several years since there has been a big variation (circa15%) so it's not just Brexit but other factors as well.

Although there are big variations in exchange rate the cost of punting varies wildly too and has a much greater impact on total spend in £££ than the exchange rate. In Phuket, in late 2021/ early 2022 there was a much bigger variation in bar fines (300 - 900), lady drinks (100 - 300) and ST (1000-3000) LT (overnight 2000-5000).  Not forgetting BEER 60 - 120 or worse.

From my personal experience you don't have to drink alcohol in the bars/go-gos. I have often drunk a fizzy water. They'll probably charge you the same as a beer but if you are entertaining the ladies you'll be welcome.

No, just wondering which city/island did you stay in. Pattaya is the place to be, Bangkok doesn’t come close imo. Phuket is also very nice with the full moon parties.

When I first went to Thailand I did travel around a bit. Mainly Bangkok and Chiang Mai. They're both great places but Pattaya is by far the best in terms of women so it's the only place I go to now.

Thing with Pattaya is that it is the sex capital. But that's all you do. That and drink. Bkk has nana plaza , soi cowboy , patpong, thermae, street girls etc but so much to do in the way of palaces, temples,river ferries,galleries,museums,Jim Thompson house,shopping etc etc. Pattaya can feel a bit ground hog day. Each to their own.

I agree with the last comment. Nothing really to do besides fuck (and sadly at my age I am lucky to have one pop a day) and drink and so much of the food is dreadful English fry ups. The only decentish beach is on the island and even then the furthest from the port is the best. But yes the girls are great and are the best value.

The first time I stayed in Pattaya there was a group of elderly golfers staying in the same small hotel. All the bags of clubs and kit remained untouched in the storage room for the entire duration. The golfing holiday was their alibi for a week of how's your father.

My wife let's me go because she knows that I feel sorry for the girls and would never indulge in anything as gross as having sex with a variety of beautiful young Thai women

Reminds me of another story a friend relayed to me. It was pre mobile phone era. Chaps would go on a golfing holiday to Marbella. A few weeks before departure a sympathetic friend would post up a pack of blank "wish you were here " post cards from Marbella which the golfing group would fill in and then post back to Spain in another pack for postage on their away week!!. Golf clubs were loaded in the car but never left the airport car park . The 'golfers' would then head to Thailand for their holidays with an alibi in hand. My friend asked how he would fool the wife on return when she requested her marital rights and he would obviously be worn out and 'dry'....."do her doggy and spit on her back " was the reply  ......

I was staying in a hotel in Pattaya and during the days there was a group of lads there lay on sun loungers with polo shirts on and one glove on their hand. I'm looking at them and thinking WTF! Curious to find out what was going on I asked them. They explained that their wives thought that they were on a golfing holiday and therefore to cover that they had spent their time mongering they had to go home with a 'golfing tan'!
