I’m fully with you on parking, it’s a nightmare! I ended up arriving 30 mins late but she didn’t have another booking so luckily i got the full hour. I’d parked up that way before with no issue but i’ll leave loads earlier next time when I plan my return trip to her.

Very strange as I'm sure the big print on the board said otherwise, small print probably didn't. Anyway didn't have enough time figure it out as I drove around looking for parking. Eventually found a parking space totally free, not too far from the original space.

What time of day was it? Those pay to park are only during certain hours, outside of those hours you can park there for free.

When you ring the parking number if no payment is required it just says parking is unavailable in this location at the moment, meaning there is no payment to make. I tend to go in the evenings now so parking is free

I went at 9pm but  I'm sure the board said till 10.30. Yes my payby phone app app did say something like parking is unavailable at this time. I assumed I got not park.

It’s a few years ago so may not be relevant. I used to park on top of Whiteley’s department store - may not still be there, but always spaces and not ridiculously expensive, but that may have changed
