External Link/Members OnlyI don’t like giving negative reviews, but I feel I have no choice simply because of the quality of the massage. Other people might have a different experience obviously.
I have been to this place previously when it operated under a different name with different owners but thought I’d give it another try, so knew where I was going. Comms easy and arranged an afternoon appointment. Although it’s in a town square it wasn’t particularly busy, but obviously it’s not a discrete location if you’re very local.
Greeted by a tall Thai lady in a mask, which she didn’t take off for the duration. Cost of the massage was £45 which is steep (but I don’t mind paying for a really good Thai massage) and shown to an upstairs room.
My issue here is simply with the massage, it was painfully slow for starters. Starting with my feet she began by prodding at my toes and soles, before moving up with the gentlest and slowest rhythmic prod of my calves. After 15mins of this I heard the town clock bell chime just as she switched to the left leg and started the same ineffectual process. A few mins of upper leg swipes before she just switched to my head, shoulders and then spent about 10 minutes gently pushing at my arms and fingers.
I get that probably not all Thai girls have the strength to do deep tissue massages, but this girl looked like she had the hand and arm power, and good Thai masseurs have an ability to sweep around and across the body in one movement as if everything is connected, that’s how it improves blood circulation I’m guessing. This had nothing like that.
I could have handled the light touch massage if it was really sensual, it just wasn’t. Oh and every now and then the silence was shattered by the loudest mobile phone ring and she stopped to answer it.
About 3x she asked ‘you ok darling’ otherwise she didn’t speak other than to whisper ‘you want anything else’ 10mins before the end. Declined.
Maybe she was just having a bad day, maybe I wasn’t comfortable, either way it was just a negative and slightly depressing experience. For £45 which is on the higher end for a basic massage. They don’t seem to advertise anywhere and must be reliant on repeat business, so clearly other people must be having a better experience than me anyway, so good luck to them but I won’t be going back.
