Top Gun Maverick is delayed AGAIN!

Offline PunterNumber69

No doubt they'll soon announce that the latest Bond movie is delayed too.

I'd love that to be released on streaming services for Christmas.

They have crashed and burned on the previous launch dates. They really should feel the need for speed

I'd have thought that cashflow wise it was better for them to make money from the movie instead of sitting on it for longer.  People would watch these movies at home and then watch them again in a cinema setting where you can fully appreciate the movie in the setting it was intended to be watched in to get the full experience.

And there is me thinking the title of this thread would lead to a more profound debate. Actually maybe for the best  :sarcastic:

I won't loose any sleep over that. Is the second film going to be as gung-ho as the first  :unknown: I prefer Tom Cruise in the Mission impossible films.

I think with the Bond film there are massive product placement deals in place that become voided or dented if the film doesn't provide a world wide cinema release. They literally cannot afford for it not to be a cinema smash.

Ironic given it was originally slated for a prepandemic release in November 19 but they delayed it for rewrites due to a poor reaction to the wokey Waller-Bridges influenced first cut.
