She did the same to me - bid higher. I was still tempted but then changed her location at the last minute to herts/beds - so left it as I didn’t want to risk a no show.

Slight deviation from the topic, but on a recent reverse bid of mine, most of the bids were at the price I quoted, which was £20 to £40 more than the ladies normally charged. Can't understand how they expect us to pay more on a reverse bid.

I think it's the well used tactic of, if you don't need the work, quote a ridiculous price on the basis that 5% of punters may go along with it, so nothing lost and much to gain.

Plumbers use this all the time
