Punting in China is hard if you are western, can't speak Mandarin and have no contacts that can help you with the scene. I made a long post in the Shanghai thread, and most of that will be relevant to other cities in China. WeChat is important, nobody uses cash.
1. Streetwalkers. Never dabbled in this in either the UK or China, but I've seen videos of it on YT and it doesn't seem as grim as I would imagine it is in the UK. There are areas where basically loads of girls will stand on the street, you pick one and they will take you to a room they have maybe 30 - 60 seconds walk away. Prices are 150-200 RMB from what I can gather; I read a review of a girl charging 220 RMB (£25) with the guy moaning about it being expensive, which goes to show everything is relative. Obviously the girls aren't stunners, but for a western guy they will be size 6-10, generally petite and presentable (ie. hotter than most WGs in the UK). Downsides would be that you can sometimes have a lot of guys around there (masks are good cover because some mongers do record/upload their trips) and they will literally speak no English so good luck confirming services. You can find the area for GZ with a bit of searching, but it does change often.
2. Girly bars. You won't find anything like Thailand where its obvious what its for and the girls can all be bought. You'll get either (a) freelancer bars that look completely legit from a cursory glance but all the girls can be negotiated with, or you'll get (b) bars where girls will sit with you and drink your drinks or ask to be bought drinks and maybe, just maybe, you might get one to come home or meet up with you afterwards. For (a), bars like Judys and Manhattan in SH are known for this. Kama in GZ was one of these, but my current intel says that Kama is no longer. Going rate is usually somewhere in the 1-2k range. For (b), you wont have to look far for such bars as many people will openly tell you about them (because there is a legit veneer to them that nothing untoward happens). The problem is that taking a girl out from such a place is not as easy as simply paying. For starters, its just the normal culture in China for a group of guys to go out and get a table in a (normal) club/bar and then the club will provide girls to sit with the guys and drink their drinks. The girls get commission, but their job is generally to sell drinks, be fun and ensure the guys have a good night - not to be available for hire. That said, asking "Are you coming back with me?" will probably either get met with a polite declination or a quote. Actually, it'll probably get met with a quizzical look because its highly unlikely the girl will speak English, but on the off chance she does you'll get one of those two outcomes. So you're looking at a combination of your wallet and how much she likes you to determine the price.
3. Massage places. HE is basically standard everywhere. More is variable depending on the vagaries of LE and how well you can speak Manadarin or know the secret code phrase apparently. There is one well known place in GZ that supposedly offers BJ and FS, but when I visited I only got a HJ (and massage) for 600.
4. Independents. There are some websites with reports and/or paid membership forums or Telegram groups. Usually really weird website addresses like twl88.com (not a real website) to avoid being discovered by google or worse. You'll have to read/write Chinese to fully engage. Google translate can get you part of the way there but they speak in some weird code (wolf brothers hunting for meat etc etc...). They post reviews of independent girls who tend to work from hotels/apartments like incalls in the UK. Rates seem to be 600 / 900 / 1500 which I think is 1hr + 1 shot / 1hr + 2 shots and the last one I'm not sure of. You'll have to pay to get access to information such as WeChat ID and/or phone number for a girl. Using western facing escort websites will cost you multiples of this or you can use WeChat/Tinder/Tantan and see what you can find.
A trip to HK or Macau would be perfect, but believe the border isnt fully open yet without quarantine requirements.
