Just picking up on a point of teeth cleaning, I always thought cleaning them just before a punt was a No No due to micro abrasions. I personally never clean my teeth just before a meet and use mouth wash and chewing gum instead.

Yeah I think you are supposed to only brush one to two hours before.

But, if you brush then eat something strong you aren't going to cover it up just with mouthwash/gum.

Sounds like the WG could have done with using some mouthwash if she did brush earlier.

Well I did not know about the brushing teeth issue. I always use mouthwash after a meet but will certainly bear it in mind in future.
