Quick question as I'm overdue for a screen (I'm a once or twice a year punter at best) but is the Hathersage centre in Manchester no longer offering walk in appointments? Just looking at the northern webpage and it appears to be phone appointments (impossible to get through apparently) or online booking which doesn't appear to ever have appointments free.

I had to drag a mate down there a few months back and it seemed to operate as I would expect, get there first thing or just before lunch, scramble into the queue and hurry up and wait to pee in a cup....has anything changed?

Despite it being called a walk in centre you can no longer walk in

By the time you get through on the phone all appointments are usually gone, best bet is to book online, free slots open up for the next day at 8.30am each morning & there's a handful of centres around Greater Manchester

You have got to be online on the site the previous day at 12.00 when the appointments become available. The art is to get the whole of the form filled in by say 11.57 and then be ready to press go as 12 strikes. A pain but it does work. Ashton under Lyne is the easiest to get an appointment.

They changed it to 8.30, you're right about getting prepared a few minutes beforehand, all appointments are usually gone in a few minutes, must be all the dirty dawg punters & brasses in Greater Manchester

They book extremely quickly... just got to make sure you're there on the dot for when the website opens up and keep refreshing for a clinic that has spaces!
