I’m not. It’s just that ‘elsewhere’ it’s been insinuated that we’ve colluded in offering freebies in exchange for reviews and I’m setting the record straight.
You know I’ve contacted you before on other matters similar to this. It’s just that we are seeing an increased volume of people who say they are reviewers and we have just started using the same blanket response. I don’t think it’s fair on you to flood your inbox with the 3-4 chancers a day we get on the offchance one might be real.
We didn’t contact before as a) we didn’t actually think he was genuine at contact and b) as no one commented and it dropped down the board quickly we didn’t want to bring any more attention to it.
I get contacted regularly by various people about various things, it's one thing someone using their membership as a means of getting a better paid for punt, though I have to say doing this is way out of order and should certainly not happen. Having said that, depending on how you book it may be obvious who you are on the forum anyway, though that does not stop negative reviews. It's another thing all together a punter saying "you've had some negative comments and reviews, give me a free booking and I'll post a positive review no matter how the booking goes" which happened in this case.
The first line of your post referred to txt messages, this joker was caught through txt messages, perhaps if you'd worded it a bit differently, like stating first that you'd had an issue with him mentioning this forum previously, it wouldn't be misconstrued.
I am not prepared to say who was involved with him asking for a freebie, suffice to say the evidence has been seen by those who need to see it.
