I was just driving through Grangetown, Cardiff.

In front of me a black BMW, heavily tinted windows and a Romanian number plate, well RO on the plate.

Pulled in a few cars ahead of me and unloaded two girls, each with one small wheelie suitcase and a man 'escorting' her.

They disappeared into a pedestrian area and I lost track of them.

It looked wrong to me.

I got a photo of the car and Reg plate.

I have forwarded all of this to Crimestoppers, I suspect the only action will be for me to get a summons for using my phone at the wheel!

So anyone booking a Romanian in the Grangetown area may want to think twice.

Why do you say it looked 'wrong'? Did the girls look scared/coerced/forced/unwilling?

Or was it just that you realised that they must be a pimp and his hookers, just got off the plane from Bucharest?

If it's the latter, then probably no different from 95% of other AW Rom girls.

Of course if it's the former, then contact the authorities.

I have no idea what they may do but my personal morality did not allow me to ignore what I saw and what I suspected.

With a Reg Number I would hope an owner could be found by the Romanians, if they are interested.

If the UK authorities have any interest and resources a watch for the car could be mounted, and I mean a watch and notify not a search.

I gave them the street parking location and direction of pedestrian travel, that and maybe some local intelligence from other sources like complaining neighbours, might fall like pieces of a puzzle.

I witnessed the new girls arrival, usually by taxi, sometimes with their boyfriend. I guess they had a 'look' about them, disoriented in a strange place, walking into a flat to meet an unknown 'Uncle,' not knowing what the next hour, day, week held for them.

From what you've said I'm getting 'an air of trepidation' about the girls, rather than 'forced against their will'.

Even in today's PC world (and I don't mean the computer place) there's nothing there to interest the police, only Harriet Harman. And thankfully she's probably a long way off being Home Sec.

Absolutely, and I'm in no way criticising his vigilance, because there can be few crimes as heinous as forcing a young girl to have sex with strangers.

But there's a big difference between that, and what are effectively economic migrants trying to earn valuable currency abroad.

Anyone suspecting the former should alert the police asap. As for the latter, well that's why many of us are here on UKP.

My only reason for posting this here was to make members aware, of what I had seen and what I had done, leaving each person to draw their own conclusions and if they called an AW number and was told Grangetown they could make their own decisions.

I also had early concerns about visits the the Chinese shops but investing time in chatting with the girls, the Uncles and Aunties, I concluded that most of the girls were not trafficked although that they may be working because of then need to pay off debts that they has been lured into.

In all the years I only once encountered a trafficked girl, I had no doubts, and I again contacted Crimestoppers, the place was raided, closed down a prosecutions made the paper, as did the convictions.

The details of this event are not going to be discussed.
