Roughly which part of Govanhill is it that's such a dump?

Is the flat really that bad, in the sense of the room being a state? Or is more just case of shite being piled high in the halls? When I did April-Again in Edinburgh years ago, it was in a room full of hamster and gerbil cages. Would probably have been even more off-putting had I been there longer than 15 min. Hi TMWNN there's a square park in front & the Tenaments surround it on four sides.
There's a couple of schools nearby.
