Are we taking too many health risks?

After overhearing a discussion in the pub about STDs and reading a recent post on here about a girl with oral Chlamydia it got me wondering if we are taking too many risks when punting. I wouldn't dream of barebacking a girl but like many guys I like OWO which is a relatively new service that girls are providing. Up until 15 or 20 years ago all services were covered. This was primarily down to the AIDS/HIV panic in the 80s but as less has been heard of the virus attitudes have changed.

Do you think we are taking unnecessary risks?

Unnecessary? Maybe. Acceptable? In my mind yes.

If we are talking your general punter with DFK and OWO/RO then I honestly would say the risks are small enough that I wouldn't worry about getting to sleep at night.

If we are talking about barebackers then no. You don't know who or what these girls have been exposed to and barebacking is the greatest exposure (especially during anal). I understand that oral can still pass on infections but there is a more than significant difference between the practices.

In my mind the greater question is if the risk is acceptable for punters with partners with whom they still engage sexually. At least one of my regs swapped to covered service only as it "wasn't fair to her partner" if she caught something. Fair enough. Should I catch something off these girls then it's anti-biotics and hand shandys for a few weeks until clear. It might be harder to cover things up (so to speak) for punters who are family men or simple couples.

At the end of the day we are still safer than a lot of the twats in the city centers most nights.

I have a lot of experience in healthcare and if any of  you guys would have access to patient records you'd be shocked how common HIV and Hepatitis is.
It is a load of bullshit that you can't get any of these from two, trust me you can and you don't even have to be stupid just a little unlucky.

Yes, I did know that it is possible to contract Hepatitis from oral on a woman. So I got vaccinated, as any sensible punter would.
HIV from giving oral? Hmmm..not so sure about that one.

...There will always be risks involved...It's just how each individual chooses to minimise that risk..But thats a case of...each to their own..

Ok, so the comment about the possibility of HIV infection from oral got me thinking. I googled the topic to find that where a woman is giving a blowjob, she would be at low risk of infection if the guy was a carrier.
The guy receiving the BJ is not at risk.
Moreover, where a guy is performing oral on a woman, he is not at risk even if she is a carrier.
I guess that means that the risk is solely to the person (of whichever sex) who is giving the BJ to a guy who is HIV positive. The risk is low (5% of cases are contracted this way), but rises if the giver of the BJ has bleeding gums or a mouth ulcer; which makes sense.
