Author Topic: Barts Sexual Health Clinic - alternative to Dean Street  (Read 1670 times)

HI guys,

In light of the below topic, and it seems people have mentioned about the popularity of the Dean Street clinic, I used Barts Sexual Health Clinic in the City on Friday and thought it was quite a decent alternative.

Booked online at my chosen slot, and filled a form in to prepare. Although the time was only a guide for you to arrive, they say that you should be seen within 45mins. Well yesterday, I waited 30mins - and bypassed the 'walk-in' folk -  which wasn't too bad, and had urine and blood test for everything bar Hep. B. (which the nurse didn't even mention based on my history).
Anyway, results in a week and out in 15mins.

So, for City guys like me, recommended so far!  :hi:

Completely agree with this recommendation. I've used them for treatment for the v annoying genital warts.
Make the online booking and it's all pretty slick. Book an early morning appointment if that's possible and you generally get seen v quickly.

Thanks KentAde conveniently located for me.
Will post a query on this so I can best plan how to pop in during the working day.

Thanks Kent.  Tried them out this week.  Very fast and works very well.

.....and just to follow-up, had blood test results on Wed, and urine tests results today (Thursday), so less than a week's turnaround. All clear obviously....

Similar experience at Barts as always.  I visit this place Regularly  (every 2 months for many years) as it not far away from the office.  there is usually  any queue there in mid morning. It usually takes total of 15 -20 mins waiting including the blood and pee donation. Never used Dean street just in fear of running into my sparring partners from Paddington etc.

They give you a card with a code so you can phone to hear your results.

They test for Gonorrhoea, Chlamydia, herpes, HIV, syphilis,  Herpatitis B & C (always been negative on all)

Finding the clinic can be a treasure hunt on your first visit.

I do the same drill every two months  easy as can be. Always pleasantly surprised at the nurses complete lack of judgment. I always quiz them on the risk associated w covered intercourse RO and OWO. The are completely relaxed about it. I asked the last one how often she sees a sti resulting from ci/ro/owo and she said she had seen one from a gay man but that was it. They certainly don't scare monger. Pretty close to slapping you on the butt and saying get back in the game.

Should say I go to ambrose King not barts.

Is it wrong to prefer to live in blissful ignorance  :unknown:

I've never visited a sexual health clinic, but I have been considering it as I punt very frequently and also fuck the occasionally civvie.  I haven't even visited my GP since I was probably 15 and I never bothered with the free health checks offered at work, so I have literally no idea if anything is going on inside me.  I feel pretty healthy, take one berocca every morning and never get sick.
