Accidentally Grassing Up Your Real Name.

Was with a regular wg who I have been seeing for years yesterday who knows me by my alias punting name.  Whilst having a breather we were generally chatting about stuff and I was talking about somebody referring to me and let my real name slip out.  I'm sure she picked up on it as I started to stammer a bit after my slip up.  I'm not unduly worried as I know who she really is in her real life, and discretion is just as important to her as well as me, but I thought that I could have really fucked myself up if I was with any unscrupulous wg.  Anyone else fucked up like this?

I switched from my real name to a punting name after finding UKP

So my regulars from before then know me by my real name.  However there is 1 that I see very occasionally where I got muddled and used my punting name when she knew my real name.  I then got totally confused and now have no idea what to call myself with her. 

However as it is only a christian name I really do not think it is a big deal in any case, unless you have an unusual name.

I did it early on in my punting career with a girl who became a regular. And frankly if you're punting near home e.g. where you could conceivably be seen by the WG, and possibly among company, would it not cause more problems than it solves if she actually said hi and used a different name instead of your actual name?

I have always used my real first name when punting and never had any problems.

The thing is, you never know who is unscrupulous until too late. A regular could turn nasty at any moment due to many different reasons totally beyond your control.

My advice would be in your situation would be in another punt, come up with another similar story and someone referring to you by a different name in it. Then leave it a couple of punts and do it again. Throw confusion into it all.

In terms of it happening to me. Yes it has. My biggest two examples was on AW it stupidly auto-populates your first/surname into a booking request you make for a girl. And when I signed up to AW in 2011 I thought nothing of putting my real first and surname in there. I rarely use AW for bookings. But then in a booking in 2015 I forgot to remove the details and the girl got my real details from that.

Another one, I didn't have a punting phone. So put my mobile phone number in facebook to recover my account. Which reveals your facebook account to everyone using the smart phone app if you do without even needing to know your name.

Depends really on anything else they know about you. The easiest thing to fake to keep your identity safe is your name especially if you need to vent to a paid ear about work or something which is more obscure or identifiable than normal. Lies are all about details and the more details you need to construct, the harder the lie. Fairly certain they wont give a shit about using a nickname or even false name so it allows you a little more freedom with other truths.
