10.8% Romanian seems too low to me - not sure what happens if you add Spanish and Italian to it....in my experience WGs of those nationalities have always been Romanian...(a positive for me, but I'm fully aware this is a polarising subject 
).

you're misunderstanding me
What I mean is that (for Lancashire) of those girls on Adultwork who don't state a nationality, around 8-10% prove to be Romanian. Romanians claiming to be Spanish/Italian are not included in that figure, but I'd guess at around 40% of those, with another 40% of "Spanish" really being South American. Having said that, the Spanish/Italian claimant figure in Lancashire is tiny at around 1-2%.
As to trying to work out the absolute proportions of working girls in total who are Romanian, thats hard because of the different ways different nationalities advertise. Here in the NW Romanians increasingly use Vivastreet and ignore AW. Some Poles use AW or both, but there is a tendancy for Poles, Hungarians, Bulgarians, Czechs, Russian to only be sold through walk-in parlours, or callout agencies with minimal or no personal advertising. The parlours on Cookson St in Blackpool are a good example. This reflects the fact that Romanians are more likely to be working for themselves than girls from the other EE countries, who are more likely to be victims who their owners prefer not to have identified. At Cookson St many of the girls are delivered to the brothels in the morning by their pimp "boyfriends", rented out for the day to the parlour owner, and then collected later with the money going straight to the pimp.
The girls on Vivastreet and AW are only part of the total. There's a large unquantifiable number of girls working - often under duress - for parlours and agencies that no-one can get a real handle on. That's what makes all published statistics of foreign prostitutes in the UK a nonsense
However, what I can say is that for the last year in Lancs (not including Liverpool/Manchester conurbations) the number of ADVERTISED EE girls had varied between 60-120 depending on time of year. It changes week by week but thats a valid average. I can't put a handle on the "hidden" girls in the brothels / parlours / agencies.
NOTE: the 60-120 figure may seem low, but in reality theres a heck of a lot of duplicate profiles out there, especially on Vivastreet
