I'm sure this topic has been talked about  here before, but I wonder how prevalent this really is amongst some of our regular stops with rotating WG's on a weekly basis?

I know its likely being exaggerated, but  do you think some of these places with weekly rotating WG's we visit may be about to be cracked down on regardless?  I've never personally felt that any of the parlours / swap shops I've visited had the vibe of human trafficking about them, but I'm a little concerned that these task forces might have a different definition.  :unknown:

Sorry if it's a bit of a grim topic I'm just wondering if the wind in government is changing and wanted your opinions.

Grim but real I suspect and often right under our noses....not the working girls tho that aspect is there too tho I have not personally experienced it...more your "self employed" carers...from ee or your builders....fruit pickers in LincS .....and so on....working long hours...on zero hours contracts...etc......lack of holidays....depressing wages for existing UK workers....and ultimately bad for all one way or another. Slavery isn't just about Sergei in the other room..!!

Almost off topic.  Fruit pickers are not escorts.

Anyway, making regular escorting easier (such as making it legal for 2 escorts working together, or legalising brothels) is one way to prevent scumbags using slaves for sex work.

I don't believe that trafficking for sex is as big an issue as some would like to make out. All power to the authorities who are cracking down on this, though the raid on Cambridge Parties seems to suggest their intelligence isn't brilliant.

Which punter wants to meet a girl who isn't doing this willingly, that would be the crappest punt ever!

You suggest the logical solution of decriminalisation of brothels, but we know which way some are pushing this agenda, to suppress demand by criminalising the punter!

If you think it all too deeply you have problems;

Define working under duress?

A single mum, bills to pay, school uniforms to buy, kids to take care of and protect.

Can you be sure that she is really doing the job willingly?

Yes, I know a lot of women turn to prostitution because it's quick money and it may not have been her life's dream to be one, but that's a world away from a girl who is under threat of violence, has been deprived of her passport, doesn't see the majority of what she earns and can't take a day off if she wants to.

I agree but I wouldn't want to be caught up in a legal debate about it, in times when reason and common sense fly out the window so quickly.

You hit the nail on the head here. The 19-year-old girl working her tits off for at McDonalds for 5.60 an hour could technically claim it's slavery because she needs to work to feed her kids and so on.

Any reason why the hooker who's fed up of working punters in the sauna doesn't quit and get a job at Tesco?

I recognise that quote as coming from a report by the Scots police a few years back and they were way off the mark. The stats were based on around 30-40 girls, mostly in nail bars - not sex work. The completely missed the prossies - they refused to accept that they existed. Some English police forces have the same problem. For instance in Lancs, Blackpool Police repeatedly claim that they don't have any trafficked women in their area: we all know better

I think there's a clear difference.between someone who has their passport confiscated and threatened with violence than someone who decides it's an easier way to feed their kids than working in Asda

Offline Southernandy

For those arguing that 'feeding their kids' means that willing girls are under duress is in my opinion a straw man argument. In fact I would argue that these women are at a significant advantage in being able to do this without needing any experience or qualification to earn in excess of what a doctor or lawyer might earn. Let's also be honest, it's not like your average dad trying to feed his kids has this option

This is how I see it.

I could just as well argue that I'm forced to do my job because it's the only way I can get money to pay my rent and feed myself. Everyone must work in order to eat (although it's not quite true in the UK with the way the welfare system works). A girl working in prostitution is no different - if she doesn't want to do it anymore and she is free to leave/quit, she is not being forced. Just because she will have less income afterwards still doesn't mean she's under duress.

Modern life is slavery.
Debt has replaced chains.
Go to Uni, rack up £60k of debt.
Get a credit card, rack up £thousands debt.
Get a car, rack up £thousands more.
Get a mortgage, rack up £fuck knows more debt.
Pay for your kids to go to Uni, £thousands more
Pension pot raided - no more final salary schemes. Will it be enough to pay off that debt you have racked up?
Get old and infirm, kids cant look after you because they are in debt holding down 2 jobs so it's into a home at £1000+ per week
Sell your home to pay for it.

We are all modern slaves and we are getting steadily poorer. Some have a shitter life than others.

Back on topic. Sex trafficking. Didn't a certain charity suggest that during the Olympics 2012 that 50,000 women would be tracked into the UK for the purposes of prostitution? And in the end they identified just 50. Most of whom declined to give any meaningful statements to the police in order to prosecute the traffickers. I think one only gave a statement in order to get benefits, housing and a place at college, but before the trial she was picked up working for Sergei in a brothel again! A fact the defence found out about and made use of when she took the stand!

The one reason I never do Thai, Vietnamese or Chinese punts is that I fear that many might be trafficked. And I don't find them very attractive either...

No facts here. Opinion from Osborne.

Slaves are more likely to be building roads or picking cockles than being escorts.  They always add that 'they are being forced into prostitution' to get sympathy for the story.

Anyway, even if it were true, the solution is to make it easier for willing UK girls to be escorts (such as easing the brothel laws about 2 working as a pair, or 1 with a maid) rather that build a Trumpian wall at the boarder to stop them.

I've met EE WGs who've done fruit picking and then moved to London and worked in saunas. They've said sauna work is 'easier', better paid and less harsh in terms of bosses. Make of that what you will.

I once met a Chinese WG in a massage parlour who refused to open her legs. I went back the next night, paid, and same performance. Called Crimestoppers, gave the details, it remained open a long time after.

I've shagged at least 2 nigerians and 100% sure neither was a sex slave or forced in any way ... and both seemed to be considerably more wealthy than me. Incidentally, both also gave a very good service (though the first one went considerably downhill on my third, and last, visit).

Cos someone will ask .... the first one was External Link/Members Only ... she doesnt appear to be escorting any more - it was, according to my feedback, 7 years ago that i saw her - which suggests her profile age is not entirely accurate. I saw her from an RB - considerably less money than the rates she tends to advertise these days if shes working.

the second is not on AW.

Sometimes the police will make raids regardless of whether trafficking is taking place or not, they will spend a day every so often raiding a number of establishments where they think illegal activities are taking place. In the above clip they raided a club to catch a few drug dealers,I think there were less than ten arrests. They do it for publicity and to show they are doing something.

Here you can phone in and report slavery if you encounter it. Presumably, you make your excuses and leave. To make an anonymous call from a landline dial 141 before ringing.

I have not used this service.
Problem is if the police treat the trafficked woman as if she was the criminal and not the pimps.

All thanks to the great monetary system we have and are pushing onto the rest of the world; Private central banking and fractional reserve banking.

This debate would probably not exist if it wasn't for this great monetary system we have. I agree, we are all slaves to this system. This is the root of the problem.

Really bleak and sad stories. Eye opening that the work spanned a range of occupations, with sex work being in the minority. Even nail salons and builders are suspect.

In relation to a previous post, one of the oriental WGs I met at a location that rotates girls weekly said that she works and travels all over the world. She has seen more of the UK than I have, and has also seen a lot more countries; North America, Australia, UK, etc.

We know how they make these estimates. They don’t know the girls currently trafficked obviously (or they’d have intervened) so they estimate based on the arrests in a busy area of arrests. If it’s happening there they’ll estimate it’s the same number all over the country.

If they’re not sure, they’ll estimate on the bigger side. Why? Because their jobs and salaries depend on ministers believing there’s a vast number of girls to be rescued.

I don’t doubt it’s happening. And it’s terrible. Just that I doubt it’s on any scale they project. Their record for honest is appalling.

Haven’t seen a Nigerian for years. Probably last time I was in Africa and maybe not Nigerian even then.

To raise awareness of the impact of the sale of sexual services on those involved and develop proposals for government action; to tackle individuals who create demand for sexual services and those who control prostitution; to protect prostituted women, helping them to exit prostitution; and to prevent girls entering prostitution.

Doesn’t sound very balanced! Sad that the papers don’t look that up before they publicise the “report”.
