Not posted on here for a while so just a small topic to get back into the swing of things..

I've not got massive amounts of experience with punting maybe 12 girls max, but never the less I thought to myself that I've still racked up quite a bill of expenses through punting, when you include the travelling, the punt itself and some extras.
My average 1 hour punt usually charges around £100-120, most of the girls I've been to see charge another £15-20 for some additionals I like to include in the session.
I don't like to punt locally for obvious reasons of keeping discreet so therefore I tend to top up petrol for the trip, usually around £20 worth a go.
That racks up to between approximately £1,600-£2,000 (Not huge amounts, but for what I've received in quality for my money and for the little time I've been punting, I am pretty shocked that it goes well into the thousand mark)
Looking back now, I have had some punts that were definitely not worth the time, effort or money and do regret going.

I used to rock climb in my youth and spent loads of equipment and getting to places. I look back now and never regret the fun times I had and I guess for me it would be the same as punting

I only regret the money i have wasted on bad WGs. Punting can certainly be a very expensive pastime but there are ways of making it a bit cheaper if a punter wanted to such as going for quickies or if in London, Soho Walk-Up at £35 or so, or to parties at £60-80 for 3-4 hours.

My advice to punters is only punt when you can afford to do so, dont put paying a bill or living expenses off for a punt. I must be in the over £150-200,000 spent in over 30 years kind of money by now.

I get what you mean, but there are alternatives in some cases, in my case especially.
I don't punt for the company and what not, I punt to enjoy some spare time with someone experienced, who knows what they're doing and can give you a right good time (doesn't always turn out to be the case).
But I also enjoy a night out and quite often, it will result in going home with a girl, just not the quality and know how of an experienced WG.
That's where my regret is, the fact I'm paying and sometime paying over the odds for something I quite often get for free.

Not in real terms no, but in terms of numbers of £s handed over for a punt, which was how the OP phrased his question, it was sometimes less than now. As a proportion of disposable income, I spend less now than I did then.
