There have been significant numbers of Brazilians around in the major cities for several years now.  They became more obvious following Covid/Brexit, when a lot of the EU WGs returned home, leaving Brazilians and ROMs making up a much higher proportion of the WG population than before.

I suppose they are now migrating out of the major cities into the outlying areas.  The East Midlands (where most of your reviews are of) has never had much of a punting scene (compared to say Birmingham), so perhaps they have spied an opportunity to be had.

Except that the form-filling required you to prove that you have been resident for a certain time, paid taxes, etc.  Not so easy for most WGs.

Loads have been let in to take up the slack, on emergency visas, so it really did not work, but it was a little about that open door stuff, but only for EU people, nothing changed for elsewhere.

The pandemic put a spanner in the works, many more were expected to stay than did, lots found it was not so bad back home and did not apply to stay, hence the emergency visas for short periods to supply labour.

As far as Brazilians go, Brexit had little effect, unless they had Eu passports, AW use place of birth on passport, if they have an EU passport but born in Brazil, that is what will show on profile, they cannot cheat it unless they buy a profile from another nationality.

Yes, I remember a program on TV a few years ago where they got several Brits who'd been on the Dole for a long time, and offered them the sort of jobs that non Brits had been doing in Hotels, Bars and fruit/ veg picking etc. The incentive was that if they were good at the job, they would be taken on.
