Hi,

Questions to those who book hotels for their punt (meaning you book the hotel... No the WG setting up incalls in a hotel)

A/ how do u choose your hotel?
B/ I guess you have to give a proof of identity... Are you not bothered by that?
C/ how do u choose your hotel?
D/ what's your process? I guess the best is to say its for a single person (otherwise they may ask for her ID too  :scare: !!), go their a few hours before and sort out keys etc. meet the pro$$ie a few minutes away from the hotel's location and come back hand in hand like any other couple. Let the WG go a good 10/15 mins before you leave as well...
E/ What about the check out ?

Cheers and thanks in advance!

Only booked a hotel once but it was a Companile Hotel, just booked double room but I chose this particular one as the rooms were accessed from outside (a bit like the ones you see on US tv) all separate doors from the car park.  That way you can keep an eye on who is coming to your door and no need for the WG to pass reception.

Only done this once but read a lot from others here.
I did a Google search for "day use hotels" and came up with a web site that specialises in hotels just for daytime use in the area I wanted. There are some amazing deals. An alternative if you can book well in advance is a chain like Travelodge/Premier Inn - basic but can be good value. You can of course also use more traditional sites like Laterooms / Lastminute.com etc. Remember you're not looking for an amazing nights sleep necessarily just somewhere cheap and practical.
I booked my WG for 2 hours to get my money's worth from the hotel.
Wasn't asked for ID but of course you need to give a credit card and home address.   I don't have a missus to worry about so no issues for me - but anyway I often travel for business and have no problem justifying a hotel bill.
Agree with the process but of course not all hotels require a key to get to the rooms so going out to meet the WG is optional in that case.
Many hotels allow you to check-out without even going to the desk, and at Day Use hotels they are used to professional types using the rooms for the day only as a base so won't bat an eye to you checking out without staying the night. It's all good for them.
Just ask your WG to dress discreetly and if anyone asks (they won't! ) she is your PA dropping off some documents.

I've not booked the hotel but had many incalls to hotels and there are similarities.

Choosing the hotel is going to be the same as preferences for an incall, personally I would avoid those with key card access and those which are a sprawling maze of random room numbers. If you are going for a long booking and the prossie has a car beware of parking restrictions.

If I were to do an outcall to a hotel I would expect it to be the reverse if an incall - stay in your room, the prossie gets the room number from you and then then appears at the door. I wouldn't bother with the subterfuge of meeting outside or booking her in.

Having said that I did see an amusing one once, sat in the car having a McDonalds dinner in a service area (high class stuff). Car pulls up, 99% sure it's punter and prossie or an affair on the go, he leaves car, books into the hotel and disappears off towards the rooms. She's clearly got to follow a few mins later. Plan was bollocksed by the car locking on her though. She pulls frantically at the door, alarm goes off, she sits perfectly still but looking grumpy, he reappears and lets her out and she's mighty pissed off. Cracking start and I almost snorted by McGristle burger out through my nostrils.

Because I live in a punting desert this is almost my default mode of punting.

Basically I just go to booking.com, input place and dates i'm interested in, and look at hotels near railway station (usually use train to get there.)

This has two advantages. First the site compiles comments from other hotel users, and gives an overall customer satisfaction score. You can be reasonably sure anything with an average score of 8 upwards will be okay. Second the site gives a discounted price for date you're interested in. (It claims to guarantee best price. That is usually true, but I have occasionally got a better price by going to hotel's own web site and booking direct.)

Personally, I do book using my own debit card, so I could be traced if anybody really wanted to. But if this aspect bothers you, you could use one of the anonymous preloaded cards and book using that and use a made up identity. This has never been something I've wanted to do, so don't know how to get such cards...but subject has been well covered on this site before. Pretty sure a site search would get you to an appropriate past thread...if not you could always start a new thread on this particular subject.

I'd always aim to get to hotel well before frolics are set to start if you've not been to hotel before. (You need to give place a quick once over to see if WG can come straight up to room, or whether you need to meet in reception or outside... sometimes stuff like card operated lifts stop WG coming straight to room.)

In dozens of bookings at large hotels, yet to come across any that give a monkeys whether you've got a woman in room or not... obviously some smaller hotels/ B and B's might well take a different line. Again hotels aren't going to ask for proof of id for anybody but person who's going to pay by debit or credit card... once they've got valid credit card details they are content. (So occasionally have left spare key card with reception and asked hotel to give to Mrs Jack Daw when she arrives... obviously best to tell WG name you've made up for her if you do this.)

Usually stay overnight so no problem on check out. A few times have decided to catch a very late train home. If so (and hotel doesn't have an automatic check out system), I just go down to reception and check out. If anybody asks why... just reply "unexpected domestic problem". Any further query gets a polite "Sorry Its not something I'm going to discuss".

I have used between 9 and 5 on many occasions with no problems. You can book the room with a credit card online and then pay cash when you arrive so no record showing up anywhere.

Most rooms default to two people occupancy and no-one gives a flying fuck who is wandering around, especially during the day when there are plenty of people holding meetings and visiting the hotel as non-residents.

If you need a keycard to access the lift, or whatever, then you may have to meet the girl downstairs or outside, give her the second key or just walk in as if you own the place. I was checking in one day when a couple came to the desk, they looked like work colleagues on a lunch break, and the guy just said to the receptionist 'have you got a room for an hour?'  The staff didn't bat an eyelid, just checked them in for cash and off they went.

And this was four star Mercure chain hotel, not a back street dive.

In short, all Travelodge and Premier Inns need a key to access either door from reception to rooms, or lift to rooms. Sometimes you can get a lift to the floor (Charing X, Glasgow, Southwark Travelodge) then need a key or punter to open door.

Last Friday I saw Miss Victoria Rose at a Holiday Inn Express, no security, nowt. She breezed in the front door, into the lift and knocked on my door. Ibis hotels dont seem to have card security either. Also visited a Jurys for a session with Little Honey Jessica four months back, and again, straight into the lift.

It helps that the WG acts confidently, dresses and acts discreetly, and her appearance doesnt shout 'hooker'.  In 14 years, never had an issue. I often deliberately chose busy Premier Inns, so the WG can walk into the lift with other guests coming and going. It's not difficult really, and desk staff are busy with other guests to notice, usually.

Payment is with my personal debit card, not a joint account as I've never had to manufacture an identity, and work pay for my hotels.  Just trying to work out how they can pay for the WG also....

Sometimes booking in to bigger hotels you stand out less lots of people going backwards and forth.

When you book a girl make sure she looks like she is  presentable not too tarty dressed and make sure she does not go to reception and ask where your room is, just give her directions to where lifts are and what floor you are on so she does not look like she is not staying there so she walks in confident and knows where she is going.

And if you can avoid keycard to the lifts or floors otherwise just come down and meet her outside hotel or by bar etc.

I dont punt like this, i only punt with WGs in their own premises or hotel rooms. I do though stay in hotels and in medium to large ones the staff usually couldnt care less what i do. I have had lovers and friends visit me who have never been asked what they were their for.

Use Laterooms, Trivago, Booking.com and Olotels to get a good deal. One tip thats worked for me on ocassion is dont just settle for what it says on the Laterooms site, also ring them as they sometimes have a room going cheap that isnt on their site yet.

Check that sites like 9-5 who offer day rooms actually work out cheaper than other hotels 24 hour rate, you can of course check-out of a hotel at any time as long as you have paid though many have set earliest arrival times of 2-4pm to bear in mind, which some will waive if you pay £10 or so.

Book a double room, many hotels automatically offer these anyway nowadays at no extra cost over a single, if a single is even on offer. The hotel will be VERY used to single guests staying in double rooms.

And as others have said check out whether the hotel you will be staying in has keycard access and whether its only to the room or elsewhere as well, i always ring the actual hotel to check this rather than relying on what a call centre or website say as i have found both to be wrong before.

Choose medium to large hotels because in my experience some small ones had nosey parkers who had nothing better to do than be nosey. You are far more anonymous in a bigger hotel.
