Use of copyrighted pictures?

Just noticed a parlour in Preston has published another Preston parlour's copyrighted photos of a WG on their Twatter account.

You can actually see the copyright on the photos!

It's well known in our area that the two parlours "don't get on" and it's unusual for girls to work at both parlours.

95% of people don't give a shit about copyright these days. Most think "if it's on the internet, I can use it".

In this instance, do you think the prossie is actually working at both, in which case perhaps she is so dim she loaded them to the other site herself. I can see why the copyright owner would be pissed off though. Preston Angels can hardly claim ignorance with the © logo all over them.

The vip pics have there logo stamped on them but that doesnt necessarily mean they own them, a lot of girls get there own pics done which they then supply to the establishment they are working in, so that they actually own there own copyright.

But the pictures were taken at VIP's premises; the venue is clearly identifiable to those that know it.

If you are referring to the 'retweets' like the one about you helpfully pointed me in the direction of, then retweets are part and parcel of twitter. Members retweet all the time, be they agencies, indies or just followers. It's a way of mutual promotion whatever business you are in, individuals do it to bring it to the attention of their followers - it's nothing malicious or sinister. All they have done is click the 'retweet' button at the bottom of the original tweet, something I do on other's posts myself be they contain photos, website links or whatever.

Now if they downloaded pics of other ladies and tweeted them as "come see Leila today", yes they'd be guilty of using photos they did not hold copyright for as well as bait and switch.

Gist of it is when you retweet something, you are taking responsibility for the original comments.

Just the same as in the olden days when things were written on paper...the principles haven't changed.

Well that depends on WHAT you retweet. If it is libelous then yes, you could be knackered.

In addition, the individual who originally tweeted the defamatory tweet is also likely to be held responsible for any retweets.

While this may seem beyond the original tweeter's control, this is because it is a reasonably foreseeable consequence that a defamatory tweet might be retweeted.

It is not a defence for an individual to say that he was simply repeating a statement by someone else. Just because something is out there does not make it OK to repeat.

I don't think they stole any photos, all they did was retweet posts made by the people who do own the photos - something which twitter members do all the time to mutually promote each other or say to their own followers 'I like this, this is what I follow'.

Footyfan misunderstood how this is used and that most people who use twitter are fine with this if not they'd lock their accounts and or block people they didn't want accessing their tweets. I was most surprised when he contacted me last night telling me Angels had done the same with my images. When I looked all they'd done was retweet a post made by a forum directory I advertise on who had me as their 'featured' profile. Angels had not pretended nor tried to pretend I was part of their agency, parlour or whatever. They'd simply pressed the 'retweet' button which is available to followers unless you protect your tweets.

Accy, your comments contain a number of fundamental inaccuracies....

1) There was no "weekend" away, as I have told you before...see the report. It was an overnight booking, for which the WG was paid her normal rate.

2) I have published the evidence of the texts on here (and elsewhere). The rape allegation was first made on the WG's former AW account.

3) VIP? Wrong again Accylad. The comments I made at the time were made about girls working at Angels consecutive day and night shifts ie up to 18 hours at a time, 2-3 days running.

4) Working at Angels...wrong again Accylad. The lady in question had worked at Angels since March 2011, long before I took her away.

5) Copyright pics. You will note all the pictures were deleted the next day!

6) True I deleted my profile Andypunter. I returned to the board later by Alf's invitation, not that it's any of your business.

7) I am fully aware of the contents of the thread you refer to on PPNW (I have my contacts  )

8) When I left the PPNW board in October, I deleted all my FR's I had posted on there. I was no longer prepared to contribute information to a forum, whilst others, with access to another section, contributed nothing.

Now if you don't mind, I have the more pressing business of Christmas preparations to attend to...

For instance, I said you had a weekend away in Dublin. Turns out it was just one night - you then formulate your argument around me getting this fact wrong, trying to use it to your advantage and make out my whole argument is flawed. The fact is you did take Nicole away to Dublin and whether it was for a weekend or one night, the fact remains that you have become an obsessive and dangerous little man who stalks women because of his mental inability to separate fact from fantasy.
