I wouldn't normally go near a copy of The Mirror, Daily Fail or the Scum but the link to a story about a bent Filth getting some bird led me there and then to the story and links above.

One of them is mine from chelseabrooks, love the way they have edited it to make it seem banal.

As usual with these types of articles, they try to make it look so sordid and as if paying for sex is such a low thing to do, wake up guys, this is a multi million pound industry, and reviewing helps other to makes choices.

No doubt they will mis-quote this too.

As I suspected all along. Some of you people are barbarians!!!!!  :sarcastic:

Usual shit then,
The Mirror states "By and large they do not seem like very nice guys" and of course shows a street walker getting into a car thereby reinforcing peoples stereotypes, it also refers to people reviewing things whether "illegal or not" so factually incorrect unless you are kerb crawling or seeing a coerced / underage girl

Metro refers to punters as "Sex pests"  :dash: and the article is written in such a way as to confirm the author as a patronising cunt

I did find the bit about the one on the boat interesting.  I'd like to try a punt on a boat some day, just to tick it off the list  :D

Trundle over to Utrecht. There are lots of WGs' on barges and there was another Dutch town had some too, Nijmegen (where Eddie and Alex Van Halen were born) maybe?

P.S. I realise you probably mean a much smaller boat sans bed etc but it's a start!

What's wrong with wanting value for money? And for me an £80 per hour punt is very cheap, but still £80. Compared to other prossies it might be vfm but tell me where else does anyone spend £80 for 1 hour of fun (or often not fun if it's "only" £80). Also if we all grew up and kept it in our pants what would become of these downtrodden victims of the sex industry, the £80 per hour wg's?

Offline Bogof60

As Blackpool points out above The Mirror could not resist the picture of the street walker
We should at least give credit to The Metro for not falling into this stereotype
But little else

Good friend of mine was a journalist for the Mirror and when we went to Malaga for a stag do he did about £500 in one morning because he had a mfff foursome on his fucket list. He also once wrote a Kate Moss drug shame story despite never leaving the house without a couple of grams of coke to hand.

Utrecht RLD has been closed down for years.

Noooo! I'll be staying there in 2 weeks time and was planning on trundling down for a look :(. Oh well will be in Dam for a day too so all is not lost.

Thanks for the heads up Dubs, saved me a wasted journey and time searching for it. There used to be a RLD very near the Centraal Stn too but it's been many years since I punted there.

Metro piece in particular written by some snobby cow with an attitude. Perhaps some enterprising statistician can do a quick count up of the cost to UK men of the "romance industry" each year (drinks, cards, "gifts", chocolates, flowers, meals out, hotels, airline tickets, petrol, suits, weddings etc etc etc). Then we can compare costs and see what is more time-, energy-, and cost-effective for single guys; flattering women's egos or just paying them straight up for a shag.

On a related note, you would have thought the bitter harpy brigade would be grateful to the sex industry, seeing as how it stops single men lying to women for sex, and gives middle aged women a relief from their husbands' sex drive, without him having an affair. Of course male needs, desires and feels are held in general contempt these days, but these things aren't going to disappear just because female journalist's want them to.

Offline Itsnotshy

They really despise us don't they.Maybe they think all we should get is a kick in the bollocks for our hard earned money.
All of this kind of journalism is essentially voyeuristic.Normal people with their normal lives being entertained and feeling superior by reading about the bad people.
I wonder how many of the 'good people' secretly have a wank while thinking about us dirty losers abusing and exploiting those poor girls?

Offline Solidrock

Well, all publicity is good publicity, interesting to see if UKP membership increases after this.

The Metro article is written by a fat, bitter former WG who clearly doesn't like men very much. Absolutely terrible writer, can't make a single point without using the kind of snarky, sarcastic 'oh, diddums' kind of language you'd expect from primary school children in the playground.

I'm guessing she'll be reading this thread too, so hey 'Miranda', watch out for the Nisshin Maru, whaling season is coming up.

Offline Avg_Joe

she's not exactly short of sarcastic comments herself in the metro report....

Aww, poor thing. Our first culprit left a negative review because he felt no ‘click’. Is that possibly because you only paid £50?

Quote
Still, he got two showers out of it. Anyone with Thames Water will know that’s bargain at half the price.

Quote
Of course a sex-worker works from a f***ing boat! What other kind of boat would it be?

Quote
It’s heartbreaking, isn’t it? To see that your local knocking shop has raised prices in line with inflation.

this reminds me of a thread/post i read the other day where someone asked why do you visit Escorts, and got accused of being a reporter  :D

Utrecht RLD has been closed down for years.

And the boats are up for auction

UTRECHT - For years there were prostitution boats along the Utrechtse Zandpad. About twenty sheets have been abandoned since 2013 and are currently being auctioned. Anyone who has ever wanted to buy such a boat can buy a will on the Sand Road today. The responsible auction house organizes a viewing day.

Richard Dieteren of the online auction company BVA expects a lot of interest. "There will surely be some very interested parties. Of course, it is not often possible to buy a whole fleet of arks at one time. We offer from 500 euros. The most expensive is 2500 euros."

NOSTALGIA
Dieteren acknowledges that not all visitors really want to buy a boat today. "There will be parties who are interested in the ark, but also parties who are interested in the story or want to come again look nostalgic or interested."

He warns people not to bother. "It's a public auction. If you make a bid, you're stuck in. It's not free, so no Marketplace. If you're the highest bidder, you have to take off. So if you're in the pub this weekend standing and joining friends with a bargain, you are ultimately the owner if you are the highest bidder. "

BREAKFAST
All boats, of course, have a story and, according to Dieteren, it is literally still in the boat. "Some boats have been shipped, but there are also arches that are still in stock. If they are still present, they are for the buyer. Think of tables, chairs and mattresses, and they are not always the cleanest mattresses" Dieting.

According to the auction site there are boats between which can still use a refurbishment. "Some arches really need to restore you well."

STUDENT HOUSING
Dieting can thus make some new destinations for the arks. "Some have already been towed out and are already used for student housing. Because of the lack of it, the boats can be used properly. Of course you have to grow the boat, but there is also the price."

The peek rooms on the Sand Road closed in the summer of 2013. According to the municipality of Utrecht there was trafficking in human beings. There is still thought about a new prostitution zone at the Sand Road. The municipality of Utrecht wants to give more clarity this autumn.

The former prostitution boats on the Zandpad in Utrecht may remain until 1 December.

And this reporters attitude to men and the industry is exactly the reason a lot of men HAVE to visit sp's , her smug , better than you attitude , these woman need to wake up and smell the coffee, maybe she should ask the question, why do hard working family men with kids and loving ! wives  fuck prostitutes ? But try being honest in the reporting, not bitter and twisted, makes her look like the average wife ( reason for punting ) of a punter !

Well they were certainly on here. Not too sure about their attempts to be me, they started to read like another forum user half way through. Perhaps that was deliberate to try and cause other problems.

It's a strange editorial line they've taken.  I guess they don't want complaints for promoting punting - kids can technically still read metro.

What's the worst that could happen if the papers quote our reviews?  Someone tracks down our writing style and outs us?  What about the negative reviews?  We could just use the jargon and lingo.

I guess UKP was bound to get attention sooner or later with some reviews reading like works of erotic fiction (we all like them occasionally though) but I'm wary of a backlash.

Can't admin add a "copyright" rule to the forum, that no posts can be reproduced without permission, or is that not legally enforceable?

I'm sure some of the original members can give more details on the early days of UKP where other forum pimps tried their level best to destroy the site so I doubt any backlash from these articles will have any affect apart from perhaps driving a bit more traffic this way
