Yanks still fly them as the AV-8B,  manufactured under licence by McDonnell Douglas ,they will remain in service until 2025. Used mainly by the US marine corps. Called the widow maker by US pilots because they lost so many pilots in early service learning to fly them. Argentinian pilots christened them Black Death because they knew they would come out second best in a dog fight with them during the Falklands conflict.  :scare:

Very much like the Hawk jet trainer (as used by the red Arrows) first flown in 1974 so this is now 50 years old 😳

To be entirely accurate - Red Arrows (RAFAT) are still on the Hawk 1 with modifications, but all training is now Hawk T2 since 2009.
And apparently most of them now have the engine issues fixed.  Fingers crossed it stays that way.
