Re: daytime/nighttime thread, in my experience it's both inadvisable yet highly inevitable (lost count of number of times).

Touch wood though (no pun intended), I can only think of two occasions out of literally hundreds when I couldn't perform:

Bizarrely I'm still meticulous about who I see when drunk and have walked away. Safety is a good point but I've never had any WG mention my state negatively. Some punters are cunts sober I suppose.

Must admit, being tipsy as opposed to drunk and/or some other intoxicant has not generally worked during a punt. So I am not sure I would recommend the suggestion.
It has seemed to work generally better in the civvie world though 

There is also another side to this that if a punter is too drunk he could also compromise his own safety.

Did it once when I was blind drunk at a mature incall parlour in Aldgate East many years ago.
