Oh that’s sounds like fun but dangerous. I would never trust going into an establishment like that as you never know if they have hidden cameras or call the police on you to do a fake raid. Best is to book a room for the night and get the girl to come there

That way we have actual examples and could rule out bait and switch or unrealistic photos.

On Pakistan generally, how easy/ difficult is it / would it be for a white-skinned person with no local language skills?

When I was in Delhi, just across the border so to speak, a Pakistani gentleman I made friends with suggested it was very hard to get anywhere, which was why he came to India from his home in Pakistan for visits (and Delhi is not even the most desirable Indian city for punting).

From the OP’s post, it sounds a very attractive destination — but I wonder what might have affected his success and whether such factors might not be there so much for the average punter visiting? Basically it’s a country I’d like to see for its own sake, but feel a bit wary of the culture, especially regarding punting.

I personally do not think there would be any issues for a fair skinned person as you say to punt in Pakistan. As long as you are perhaps in a decent hotel .. you should have no issues. I have English friends that have visited Pakistan and have had no issues punting.

I’m not. But I don’t plan ahead much. I wanted to thank the OP for the useful info. I keep a reference file of info by country of places I go to and may go to as I travel quite a bit at least when not hogtied by necessary Covid regulations. I will be back in India at some time and as the main point of entry is Delhi (a shit hole in my opinion based on the last few visits) and Pakistan is close, and I remember thinking I’d like to go there last time I was stuck in fucking Delhi and talking to the Pakistani gentleman I was out with that evening.

The best city in India is Calcutta, though Bombay has some things. I haven’t explored the south yet.
